Words of Hope Campaign

FFIMI invites its community to support a meaningful cause through Just Detention International (JDI). JDI is a health and human rights organization committed to ending sexual abuse in detention. Kathy Dennehy, who serves on the Board of Directors for both Bethany House Ministries and JDI, has shared this opportunity to participate in JDI’s “Words of Hope” campaign.

Bethany House Ministries, which provides support and services to those affected by incarceration, shares JDI’s mission to bring dignity and humanity to those in detention. The partnership between these organizations reflects a shared commitment to justice and healing.

Each year, JDI sends thousands of holiday cards to incarcerated individuals. For many, these cards may be their only holiday greeting. Last year, JDI sent over 31,000 cards with messages of compassion and hope.

How to Participate:

  1. Volunteers can sign up here.
  2. Upon signing up, they will receive a package from JDI containing cards, sample messages, and instructions.
  3. Volunteers are asked to write a minimum of 25 cards using only their first name. Completed cards are returned to JDI using the prepaid envelope.
  4. The deadline to return cards is Friday, November 8th.

This is a wonderful way to share kindness and support with incarcerated people during the holiday season.

  1. What a wonderful service and kindness this is. Those who are incarcerated are often isolated from their loved ones and experience a great deal of loneliness. To receive a card and know that someone on the outside cares about them will be both a blessing and a gift. I am proud of FFIMI for joining in with this excellent project. So please join us in sending a card to someone who will surely appreciate it.
